Our Approach

How we keep you online.

SwitchPoint is a continuity layer, not an internet provider. We sit in front of the connection you already have and take over the instant it falters, on your terms, with no surprise bills, and nothing for you to manage.

Here’s exactly how it works, in plain English, and under the hood.

01

You keep your own internet.

We never replace your provider. Our managed edge device sits inline with the connection you already have and stays out of the way until the moment it’s needed.

Under the hood · An enterprise multi-WAN edge appliance bridges your network. Your primary circuit passes through transparently, with no change to your ISP, your public IP, or your topology. We add a layer; we don’t replace one.

02

The instant your line drops, we switch you, automatically.

When your primary internet fails, we move you onto a managed cellular connection on our own, usually before anyone in the building notices. When your line comes back, we hand you back to it just as quietly.

Under the hood · Continuous active health checks (reachability, latency, and packet-loss probes) watch the primary WAN. On failure, traffic cuts over to a managed LTE link in seconds and fails back automatically on recovery, holding sessions open where the protocol allows.

03

You’re never left guessing.

The moment we fail you over, and the moment your primary returns, you get a clear, plain-English notification with the time and how long you ran on backup. No dashboards to babysit, no wondering what just happened. The save is visible, not silent.

Under the hood · Event-driven notifications fire on every failover and restore, plus data-usage thresholds, each one timestamped and logged, so there’s an auditable record of every continuity event on your account.

04

Continuity on your terms: a hard cap.

Your backup data is capped at a limit you choose. If a long outage reaches it, backup pauses unless you decide to extend, so you never get a surprise bill. You decide how much continuity to carry, and add more only when you actually want it.

Under the hood · A hard ceiling on the failover data plan. Backup suspends at the cap by policy; additional capacity is opt-in only. Your cost is bounded by design, not by trust, and not by an open meter that profits when you use more.

05

Fully managed. You plug it in. That’s it.

We pre-configure the entire system, ship it to you, and you plug it into power and your network. We monitor and maintain it remotely. You never touch a setting, and we never have to come on-site.

Under the hood · Zero-touch provisioning with centralized remote management and monitoring. Configuration and firmware are maintained for you: ship-and-plug on your end, hands-on on ours.

06

When one line isn’t enough: bonding.

For the few who truly can’t blink (call centers, live video, telehealth, high-stakes sites) we can fuse multiple connections into one resilient pipe, so a single line failing doesn’t even drop a call. Most don’t need it; some can’t live without it. By inquiry.

Under the hood · Bandwidth bonding across our Continuity Fabric aggregates multiple WANs, wired, cellular, or satellite (Starlink), into a single virtual tunnel with session-level, sub-second failover. Both pipes carry traffic at once: more throughput, and a connection that doesn’t break mid-session.

07

Anchored IP: your public address never moves.

Here’s the problem almost no one thinks about until it bites them: when your internet fails over to a backup line, your public IP address changes, and that quietly breaks IP whitelists, inbound connections, site-to-site VPNs, and VoIP registrations. Most failover setups, and most “two internet lines” setups, share this blind spot. We keep your public IP the same (we call it Anchored IP) no matter which line is carrying you.

Under the hood · We route your traffic through our Continuity Fabric to a fixed public-IP anchor we control, so the address the outside world sees never changes when your wired line hands off to cellular. Whitelisting and inbound access stay intact straight through the cutover. Advanced tier, by inquiry.

08

What we are, and what we’re not.

SwitchPoint is a network-continuity service. We are not an internet provider, a phone company, a carrier, or a utility. You keep your own ISP; we keep you online when it falters. That focus is deliberate. Staying online is the entire job, and we don’t do anything that distracts from it.

Built for the businesses that simply can’t afford to go dark. We work directly with the people we serve, by introduction. sales@switchpointbackup.com
